Day 1: Drive to Arba Minch
In the morning after having a breakfast you will drive to Araba Minch (510 Km from Arba Minch). You will pass through the different ethnic groups of the southern Ethiopia such as Arsi- Oromo, Alaba, Hadiya, Kembata, and Wolayta, eventually you can stop & visit one village. You will have lunch at Wolayta Sodo (154 Km from Awassa).
Continue your drive to Arba Minch & 20km before Arba Minch make a detour to Dorze people (are famous for their beehive shaped huts made of Bamboo leaves and weaving culture).
On arrival at Dorze village, take some break and a local guide will take you to a compound of the Dorze people to visit their house and see their life style. The housewife will show you how a kind of flour is prepared from the stem of the enset tree (false banana) which is fermented and used to prepare porridge and sour flat bread. Make a walk in the mountains, passing the Dorze settlements, and visit a weaving and a potter’s cooperation. And a further drive from Dorze 11km to Chencha &visit the colorfull Chencha market.
Overnight stay in Paradise Lodge (has best location in Africa has panoramic view to Lake Abaya, Chamo and Nech Sar park. Best lodge with swimming pool).
Day 2: Boat trip on Lake Chamo & walk in Nech Sar park
In the morning, after breakfast you will take a boat ride on Lake Chamo where you will see the crocodile market. One can spot many hippos and the world’s most spectacular concentrations of Giant Crocodiles. (It is locally called as the crocodile market) the water birds are great the scenery is truly unforgettable. Fishing for Nile perch and many other species by locals on their traditional boat is by far the best in the country. You will also watch various low land water birds like the African Fish Eagle, Great white pelicans, egrets, etc.
Hereafter the boat will bring you to the other side of the lake where you enter Nech Sar National Park for a walk of app. 3 hours on the savannah plain where you can watch Burchell’s zebra’s, different bird species, baboons and probably also gazelle and Swayne’s hartebeest.
You will be back to Araba Minch mid in the afternoon around 03:00 – 03:30. Then you will have lunch in Arba Minch. In the afternoon you will have free leisure time. Enjoy your stay in the lodge. Overnight stay in Paradise Lodge.
Optional for this afternoon: Visit to Forty springs
Believed by local to carry scared healing properties, the Forty Springs located in Nech Sar Park are the natural wonder that gave Arba Minch its name. Come dip in the pure waters in these lush natural surroundings.
Day 3: Day trip to Konso (90 Km from Arba Minch)
After having a buffet breakfast you will drive to Konso (90 km. appr.1.5 h.). The Konso people who are known for their religious traditions, waga sculptures, traditional villages and efficient rock terracing. You will have lunch at Kanta lodge. Late in the afternoon drive back to Arba Minch for overnight stay. Overnight stay in Paradise lodge.
Day 4: Drive back to Hawassa
After a relaxed breakfast, you will drive back to Addis Ababa. You will arrive in Addis Ababa midday/early afternoon where you will do some shopping for souvenirs.
Finally you will be taken to a farewell dinner to Ethiopian (Habesha 2000 or YOD Abyssinia) traditional restaurant where you will taste Ethiopian food & drinks and a live music & dance.
Then depending on your scheduled flight; you will be transferred out to Bole International Airport for return flight back home.
