Day 1: Arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Air port
Meet and greet you FANOS Ethiopia Tours representative at exit of luggage claim and transfer you to the hotel.
Depending on your arrival visit/city tour in Addis Ababa. You will have an early breakfast and your first visit in Addis Ababa will be the National Museum. It houses numerous antiquarian relics and archaeological artifacts (most famous exhibit is the 3.5 million year old skeleton of Lucy). Then you will continue to visit Mount Entoto (3,200 above sea level. The Church of St Mary (1885) and Emperor Menelik II Palace. The Entoto Museum, with its historical exhibits is well worth a visit.
After lunch you will visit Trinity Cathedral. It was constructed by Emperor Haile Selassie in 1947 (ornamented with carvings and mosaic and other artistic works such as paintings of saints and the apostles on the stained glass) and visit Merkato, the largest open market in Africa. In the evening, you will have dinner at the hotel and you will rest.Overnight stay in Bole Ambassador hotel, Addis Ababa.
Day 2: Flight to Lalibela
After breakfast, another short flight will take you to Lalibela. Upon arrival, you will be met by our tour guides, drive to a hotel where you will check and rest for few minutes. Your first visit will be to the eleven Rock-hewn Monolithic (carved from a single rock) Churches of Lalibela (UNESCO World heritage site, with magnificent architecture & paintings inside the churches). In the evening you will get back to the hotel, rest, have dinner and relax. . Overnight stay in Panoramic View hotel.
Day 3: Flight to Addis Ababa and drive to Langano
After a relaxed breakfast, a short flight will bring you back to Addis Ababa. You will arrive in Addis Ababa before midday.You will have lunch in Addis Ababa.
After lunch, you will be driven to Langano (200Km from Addis Ababa), where on your way make a stop on Awash River and Lake Ziway to visit aquatic birds.
Your arrival in Langano will be late afternoon where you will check into a lodge. Later, you will relax on the beach. You will have dinner and stay the night in the lodge.Overnight stay in Sabana Beach Resort or Borati Lodge.
Day 4: Drive to Awassa /Hawassa/
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Awassa (70 Km from Langano). En route, you will visit Lake Abijatta-Shala National Park, Lake Shala (a very deep crater lake – over 260 meters deep) and Lake Abiatta (a soda lake with thousands of flamingos).
And upon arriving in Awassa in the afternoon, you will check into a hotel. Later, you willwalk along the lake shore for nice evening sunset and aquatic birds. You will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel.Overnight stay in Haile Resort, Awassa.
Day 5: Drive to Arba Minch through Wolayta Sodo
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Arba Minch (280 Km from Awassa). On the visit the scenic morning Fish market in Awassa. Then you will drive to Arba Minch (280 Km from Awassa). On the way you will visit Senkelle Wildlife Sanctuary (90 Km from Awassa, well-known for endemic and endangered subspecies of Swayne’s Hartebeest) and you will stop for lunch at Wolayta (154 Km from Awassa).
You will be arriving in Arba Minch late afternoon and check into a lodge. You will have dinner and spend the night at the lodge. Overnight stay in Paradise or Swaynes Lodge, Arba Minch.
Day 6: Visit Nech Sar National Park and drive to Dorze
In the morning, after breakfast you will take a boat ride on Lake Chamo and visit to huge crocodiles, hippos, a variety of birdlife and you will also visit to the nearby Nech Sar National Park (a natural habitat for many wild animals: Zebra, Gazelle, & Antelope etc.). You will have lunch break at Arba Minch.
After a brief break, you will continue driving to Dorze (50 Km from Arba Minch) and visit to the Dorze village (famous for their bee hive shaped houses, weaving styles and their lifestyle) & visit also Chencha Saturday market (7km from Dorze). In the evening you will have dinner at the lodge and stay the night there. Overnight stay in Paradise or Swaynes Lodge, Arba Minch.
Day 7: Drive to Turmi, Hammer tribe town via Arebore – Tsemay
After breakfast you will be driven to Turmi (280 Km from Arba Minch). On the way you will visit Konos village (90 Km from Arba Minch, famous for their colorfully costumed dresses, impressive terracing of land – recently registered as World heritage by UNESCO, and engraved wooden statues grave markers).
You will have lunch in Konso. The continue your drive to Turmi via Arebore-Tsemay while visit the Arebore (Erebore) village. You will arrive in Turmi late in the afternoon. Check-in to the lodge. You will have dinner and spend the night at the lodge. Overnight stay in Turmi Lodge.
Day 8: Excursion to Omorate to visit Dassench/Geleb tribe
An early morning drive will take you to Omorate to visit the Dassench/Geleb tribe (75 Km from Turmi). From there, you will take a boat trip on the Omo River and visit the Dassench/Geleb village.
Then you will get back to Turmi for lunch. You will then walk to the non-touristic Hammer Village to explore the Hammer tribes (best known for elaborate hairstyles, body painting using clay and vegetable pigments to make fantastic patterns on their faces, chests, arms and legs), attend the bull jumping – if possible and available with luck.
Or you will also visit the Hammer Monday Market in Turmi. In the evening, you will be driven back to the lodge for dinner and spend the night at the lodge. Overnight stay in Turmi Lodge.
Day 9: Excursion to Murille to visit Karo Village and drive to Jinka
An early morning drive will take you to Murille to visit the Karo tribe (62 Km from Turmi). You will have lunch in the bush, take picnic lunch.
Then you will be driven to Jinka (142 Km from Turmi), visiting an interesting village on the way. You will continue travelling to Key Afer and visit the Thursday Key afar market.
You will arrive in Jinka early in the evening. Check in to hotel/resort. You will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel/resort. Overnight stay in Eco-Omo Lodge or Jinka resort hotel.http://www.eco-omo.com/
Day 10: Excursion to Mursi village
In the morning after breakfast, you will be driven to Mursi (55 Km from Jinka) and visit to the of Mursi tribe village (popularly known for their attractive culture, women wearing large clay plates into their lower lips). Then you will drive back to Jinka for lunch.
After lunch, you will visit to the nearby Ari village and museum in Jinka. Dinner will be at the lodge and you will spend the night at the lodge. Overnight stay in Eco-Omo Lodge or Jinka resort hotel. http://www.eco-omo.com/
Day 11: Drive to Arba Minch
After breakfast you will be driven to Arba Minch (280 Km from Jinka). Day 12: Flight back to Addis Ababa& departure to home
After a relaxed breakfast, a short flight will bring you back to Addis Ababa. You will arrive in Addis Ababa mid-day, where you willdo some shopping for souvenirs.
Finally you will be taken to a farewell dinner to Ethiopian (Habesha 2000 or YOD Abyssinia) traditional restaurant where you will taste Ethiopian food & drinks and a live music & dance.
Then depending on your scheduled flight; you will be transferred out to Bole International Airport for return flight back home.
